International Day of Forests

What makes Forest Day so important and what is the connection between Zippo lighters and it?

Currently, around 30% of the earth's surface is covered by forests, but this area is decreasing every day due to various causes. One of them is overexploitation, especially in the southern countries of the world. International Forest Day was established in the 1970s to maintain and actively promote the habitat of trees and living creatures, forest animals.

At Zippo, we try to actively participate in the preservation of trees and forests with the Buy One, Plant One™ initiative. For every Woodchuck lighter purchased, we plant a tree in Madagascar.

With our lighters, we try to produce long-lasting products that belong to a recyclable material chain and do not place an extreme burden on the environment - the habitat for humans, animals and plants.
